Along the beautiful Ligurian coast, specifically in Laigueglia and Arma di Taggia, two nests of loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) have been discovered, marking an extraordinary milestone for the region’s biodiversity!

Both nests have been protected from disturbance and predation through the implementation of safety measures. Additionally, a data logger provided by the Regional Agency for the Protection of the Ligurian Environment (ARPAL) has been placed in the sand to continuously monitor its temperature, ensuring optimal conditions for the nests.

Our efforts extend beyond this: we are organizing outreach events to raise awareness within the local community about the importance of protecting sea turtles. These events are currently being prepared and will be announced soon for everyone to participate.

Furthermore, every morning our team, along with numerous volunteers and colleagues, conducts beach surveys to ensure everything is in order. To keep everyone updated, we will post regular updates every 15 days about the nests’ progress.

Join us in this crucial conservation mission: every little effort can make a significant difference in safeguarding the sea turtles of our coastal ecosystem.
