Hello,

I’m Michela! Where do I even begin to describe this experience?

First of all, I had the opportunity to make friends with people from all over the world, adapt to a different lifestyle, and learn many aspects of marine biology that I didn’t know before. In short, it was an experience that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

Every boat trip was an adventure! Each survey was a new opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitat, from cetaceans to sunfish and mobulas. We even spotted sperm whales and a fin whale during an opportunistic survey on a whale-watching boat!

I learned a lot about how monitoring works—identifying individuals, analyzing collected data, and studying the characteristics of cetaceans, as well as seabirds that inhabit our seas.
There is no doubt that this wonderful experience has greatly helped me define my future path.
