A turtle stranded on the beach? No panic! The DDP team was involved in rescuing a sea turtle. The chronicle of an exciting day and amazing teamwork.
I’ve never been very brave, but this internship made me face my fears: to interact with people I don’t know and to try new experiences. I’ll go home braver. I had my first surf lesson, travel alone by train, saw dolphins, birds, fish and geckos. I will never thank enough these people!
The DDP team had an amazing survey out at sea, they observed a group of bottlenose dolphins with several fascinating behaviours and interactions.
La giornata si è conclusa ammirando un bel tramonto. One of the best days spent in Liguria was when I did birdwatching the ornithologist Enrico Carta. We observed many species in Oneglia with our binoculars: a way to admire animals colors and behaviors without disturbing them.
Greta, one of the interns of the month of October, tells us about a day full of sightings of cetaceans, birds and fishes!
A great, amazing Sunday for Anna! A day full of sightings, both bottlenose and striped dolphins. And she also participated in the release of a sea turtle!
Li-ann tells us about her day off, spent with the other girls taking a ride towards Sanremo. The beauty of the sea cycle path has really thrilled them!
Finally we were back at sea! After such a long time spent in the office, it was so great to spot bottlenose dolphins again... The sighting was even more exceptional since there was a tiny dolphin with the group, and we realised it was a newborn!
Being an intern with Delfini del Ponente means spending a lot of time in the field, but not only! In fact, we are also working in the office where we learn about several aspects of cetaceans and marine life, but also contribute to photo-ID of dolphins and data analysis.
