My experience so far in Imperia is that it is a humble city with a lot of history, situated between two incredibly beautiful landscapes: the Mediterranean Sea, perfect for water activities like swimming, windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, and sailing trips, and the picturesque mountains.

One of the aspects I love most about Imperia is definitely the food, especially pizza from Pizzeria Ribota, gelato, pasta, focaccia, and other famous Italian delicacies that I can’t wait to try. Another aspect that fascinates me are the beaches with crystal-clear water, where I hope to take many dives in the future, weather permitting.

During the activities I’ve participated in so far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by people’s curiosity, especially among the youth, in learning more about the habitats of various marine species in the Ligurian region, including different cetaceans, seabirds, and other marine organisms. The most exciting moment was seeing dolphins up close for the first time, a unique experience that I am grateful for. This has motivated me to seriously consider a future in the field of ecology and/or conservation of endangered species, with the goal of pursuing a master’s degree in this field.

In the coming days, I’m excited to immerse myself more in the culture of Imperia and hope to visit other fascinating places like Genoa and Milan.
